Audio
drivers
Drivers, are
software which allow our machines to interact, in this particular
case, our PCs with a peripheral element, which might be the keyboard, the mouse
or the audio, meaning that it indicates the machine how it is supposed to
control, through a series of instructions, and also, to communicate inside the
PC. |
|
|
|
In this case, we will deal with
audio drivers,
which work through instructions by means of
a language or code; they mostly use binary
codes or assembler codes, and it uses the
functions of the universal logical language,
which are AND, OR, IF, ELSE, etc.
Through these type of instructions, you can
make the driver,
by means of certain switches on its
hardware, to allow the entrance or output of
the signal, and it makes it to turn on or to
turn off, which allows you to control all
the processes that are happening inside the
audio hardware.
The tough part for most regular users is to
find the right
driver for their computers;
this happens especially when they do not
know the name of the device or the model
they require.
|
|
|
To be able of getting to know it, we can turn to several methods, the first one
involves to look inside the properties of the machine and clicking into the
device management gap; then, we will see a list of all the devices that are
installed in our PCs and the only thing left to do, will be to identify it and
copy its name into the device, and also the name of the manufacturer. Another
useful method to locate the name of the device physically, requires us to open
the case of our PC and check it manually, it is usually written in the upper
east side, where we can also find the name of the manufacturer. |
|
 |
With this information we are now able of
finding
an adequate driver; for this, we look down in
the best information source, which is the
internet, we type in the search bar the model of
the device or we can directly go into the
manufacturer’s web site and search for our
driver to download it; in some cases, it might
occur that the device is integrated to the Main
board, which could make it impossible to track
them down, but currently, integrated plaques are
not used anymore, and it might also |
|
happen that the model your are tracking down
might be old, in that case, it would be much
better to buy a new Main board.
Most of the files of the
drivers, depending on
the model or on the
operative system, contain
hundreds of files, even when most of them use a
direct installer for the driver, which keeps us
from having to install it manually. The files
that are installed with a
driver are distributed
with the .INF extension and have the appearance
of a text file or also with .VDX, .SYS, .CAT
extensions.
To find a driver or an
update for your driver, I
would recommend you to check the following web
sites:
