What is an URL?
It is an address or a uniform resource localizer, known as URL,
which comes from Uniform Resource Locater. It is useful to
recover data of documents, images, music, etc. from the
internet. |
|
|
Its format is a chain of characters that has
already been established to be able to assign several types of
files. This address is unique in each document and there is no
other like it in the whole world (WWW or World Wide Web) in
which its name is recorded and the document content is included
in the data recovery protocol.
These addresses can be classified according to the net protocol
that the stored document is using and that is been tracked down
to access it.
The URL starts with the name of this protocol and then it
follows the part in which the file (server) is hosted, for
example the http (resources for http), the https (SSL over
http), the ftp (file transfer protocol), electronic address (e –
mail), mailto, etc.; then the net for which is useful to connect
into the server and, finally, the file route, for example, if it
is an image it ends in “.jpg”. or if it is a web site it end in
“.com”. |
|
One of the greatest advantages of these addresses
known as links, is that, thanks to them, navigators work with
less cache entrances to use files with URLs. These navigators
are have customized settings, so the maximum usage of four
connections to a server, managing to get the files to produce
download connections for other types of data. |
|
|
Likewise, the information that is been stored a
couple of times, is downloaded in each transference that is a
part of the container file, which is why the URL does not get
any advantage of the cache memory of the navigators. In this
content, which is built – in, need an extraction and a decoding
for its edition, so then some changes are done and, finally, it
is decoded and built – in again. |

The URL adds are used so the user can upload his
or her documents to the net, through the usage of an URL add,
saving time for other people, so they just have to use a search
engine, such as Yahoo! Or Google and, as most of these files are
uploaded to web sites currently, it is there where the search
engine needs the address of the web site (known as the upper
part of the host) so it can be activated and its origin place
can be located
.
There is a wide range of search engines that lend their services
for uploading addresses, so the user only has to search in
Google and type down the word “addurl”. And, as follows, he or
she can go directly to his or her own URL and to a comment about
it.
|
|
There are also other similar and known search
engines, such as Yahoo. The Msn search engine is able of
uploading several URLs in the same form, without having to
upload one each time and, then, their addresses will be ready to
use and be accessed.
There is another web site called ask.com, which works through an
algorithm known as expertrank, making searches in the most
concurred and authorized web sites in the net, it is not about
the link popularity, but it is divided in several categories,
that will then be in charge of searching by the most seen
subject and localize the address through the aid of other web
sites. To enter to your own URL and fulfill the site’s form, you
can click
