Immigrating to New
Zealand
Due to its upcoming economy and efficient
health and education systems,
New Zealand
has become one of the most appreciated
places to migrate for immigrants, manly, for
those who come from asian countries. |
|
|
Nowadays, many developed countries have seen
themselves forced to limit the access to
their territories to immigrants from various
parts of the world. However, before this
situation, a new alternative for those
people who seek better opportunities has
appeared.
New Zealand opens up its doors to
skilled immigrants, who due to their
training are able to automatically enter to
this country.
New Zealand is one of the countries that are
part of Oceania. This country which is
formed by a series of islands of diverse
sizes is also known as aotearoa, in Maori.
Wellington is New Zealands capital, but the
most important city in this country is
auckland.

 |
The most developed and populated island in
this long and narrow country is the one
found in the north. This island is the stage
of the main economic activities, while the
island located in the south is destined for
tourism.

|
Now, one of the main reasons for which
New
Zealand establishes favorable policies
towards skilled immigration is because it
has a reduces population, which is unable to
satisfy the demand for skilled work force,
therefore, it must be covered by foreigner
skilled immigrants, especially from asia.
The most important
migratory program in New
Zealand is the
Residence Program. Since the
year 2007, the migratory authorities of this
country give near 50 000 visas per year. The
New Zealands Ministers Council is the
authority in charge of checking the
applications and attending them according to
the work force needs in their laboral
market, as well as the countrys capacity to
hold immigrants. |
The quota of the
Residence Program is
distributed in the following way: 60 % for
skilled immigrants (professionals or
technicians), 30 % for cases of familiar
reunifications and 10 % for humanitarian
visas or international asylum. besides from
the Residence Program, the government of New
Zealand has also established the
Temporal
Immigration Programs, which gives away
temporal work visas for a maximum period of
time of three years, but it can be renewed.
Due to the constant
internet scams from
which immigrants, who wished to
obtain a
residency visa, have been victims, the
government of
New Zealand has hired
immigration consultants, who guarantee the
success then proceeding a visa application
in most cases (95 %).
Processing a
permanent residence visa can
take between 6 and 12 months, while the work
or study
temporal visa, and the familiar
reunification visa, can be obtained in a
period from 3 to 6 months.
Immigrants, who obtain their
permanent
residence visa, have a year to go to
New
Zealand, while immigrants who have obtained
the temporal residence visa, must enter the
country according the time it lasts.
It is important to mention that immigrants,
who have a permanent residence visa that
provides them more than two years to stay
there, have the right to use the
unemployment health care provided by the
government of New Zealand. On the other hand,
temporal residents (working or studying)
must access to a private health care. To
request the New Zealander citizenship, the
immigrant must have resided in New Zealand
for, at least, 5 years.
Finally, those people who wish to
travel to
New Zealand and remain there for a maximum
period of three months do not need a visa.
The only thing they must do is show the
migratory authorities their return ticket,
their valid passport and count with, at
least, 1000 dollars for each month they are
going to stay in New Zealand.
Summing it up, obtaining a
permanent
residency visa in New Zealand depends from
the immigrants technical and professional
capacities, as well as from the guidance of
a licensed immigration consultant.
