How to erase temporary files from your PC
When we are online, surfing in the Internet, when we are downloading or installing a new program, whether it is for fun or for work, when we are working using Office or even when we are listening to some music, Windows keeps saving little files that register our daily activities, which can accumulate for months, even for years; this is why as time goes by, our computers turn slower, these files are known as temporary files.

Just thinking that these files have been accumulating for a long time makes us picture that it has taken a lot of our memory, because in the worst scenarios it might have acquired several megabytes, or even some gigabytes, but let not declare our PCs terminally ill, because the solution is not only very simple, but it also takes a few minutes.

For our solution to be much more effective, we need to deactivate the option of �do not show hidden or system files�. and change it into �show hidden or system files�., because many of this �junk�. files are camouflaged and hidden in all our folders. To do this you have to enter into the Windows Explorer, go to the Tools menu, Folder Options and in the section of hidden files and folders, swap to the option that says something similar to �show all the hidden files and folders�. Temporary files have many shaped, but are mainly stored in two folders

One of these folders is: �C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\�. This folder started to be used with Windows 95, which stored the files temporarily, because there were many programs that required some of these files in order to function, the problem was that these files kept been stored and their sizes increased as the program was used. However, nowadays this file keeps functioning in both, Windows XP and Windows Vista,

so if you see that your computer suddenly turns slower, one of the reasons might be that there are too many temporary files stored that require to be erased, that is why I would recommend you to go the menu and write: %TEMP%, without letting the �%�. Aside, a folder called Temp. will appear; what you have to do is mark everything, including all the files and then totally erase them, and by totally I mean that you would also need to delete them from the Recycle bin.

Some files might be impossible to erase, there is no need to alarm, because maybe they are been used, what you have to do is restart your PC and try again. The second folder you must take into account is �C:\Documents and Settings\<User�s Name>\Local Configuration\Temp �.; this folder is also used by operative systems such as Windows XP ,Windows Vista, Windows 7,in order to erase them, you would have to look them up, you must change the part of the <User�s Name> for your Windows profile, after these, select everything and erase it.

You must take into consideration that our browser also keeps temporary files in order to access to websites faster, but those are also some that we do not need and are been stored. What we must do in those cases is look after them in our Control Panel, search for Networks and Internet, Internet Options, enter into the General gap, and in the section of Internet Temporary Files click into the Delete button and finally, close it.
