The MPEG � 4 part 4, better known as
MP4, is a type of format
of the MPEG file, and it is used to save types of
multimedia files, such as audio and video,
this format was created by the company Moving Picture Expert
Group and, also, by ISO / IEC, which have been the creators of
many formats for multimedia files, such as MP3. |

This kind of format became popular thanks to the
computer company apple, around the year 1998, who, in that time,
took the initiative with their music player:
iTunes, which took as extensions
the formats of the type Mp4a, which is for
audio, and Mp4v, which is for video, nowadays, the MPEG � 4 type
files can only be played through the format .MP4a, but, at the
same time, other format such as MP3 or the apple lossless, can
be added.
besides, the MPEG � 4 format is designed to offer DVD video
quality with a slower data transmission speed and the file sizes
are in smaller packages, and the same company that designed the
MP3, meaning Moving Picture Expert Group, has developed a codec
called advance audio Coding (aaC), which provides much more
effectiveness when compressing files, not even showing a slight
decrease in the quality, similar to the one we listen in a CD. |

similar to when we see a DVD film; besides from this, this

published in web sites with a great quality without requiring
lots of time in buffering; without letting aside the Quick Time
broadcaster technology, which makes possible to broadcast live

apple company has created an agreement or alliance between

Microsystems, this alliance is known as Internet Streaming Media
alliance (ISMa), it makes companies to guarantee the
interoperability of this format in different equipments. |
