Novell bought Suse Linux, which was one of
the most known variables of Linux, after
that, Novell launched the Suse Linux so it
was developed by the community and receive
every type of help from designers and
programmers, after this event, the name of
Suse Linux was changed for OpenSuse, this
software has an open code, because now, all
users are able of speak their minds and
change things in its source code.
On the first public version of Suse, the
10.0 one, the access to the YaST server was
used with an update of the operative system
for users; all of these with an open and
free code, this version could be downloaded
from its own web site or acquired in a box
through a previous order. |

This software includes an original
installation program known as Yast, which
made much easier the administration of the
software and also an updated graphic
interface created by Qt, which is some sort
of library to develop user graphical
interfaces. besides, among its predefined
desktops, it includes the very known KDE and
Gnome, it also has tools that are needed to
fragment out hard drive, depending on how
many logical units we want; it uses the RPM
package system, as the
Red Hat, because this
technology is based in Linux. |

Its distribution was usually made in
personal versions in packages that came with
endless handbooks and were also downloadable
from its FTP servers, but in the last
versions, all of these changed, and now it
can be directly downloaded, such as all its
handbooks, through the Internet; now the
personal version is no longer produces, only
the professional one. |
The last stable version that we can find today is the 11.1,
which has 5 files that can be downloaded directly from its FTP
server, they are in an ISO extension, and are some sort of
emulation of a hard drive, but in a virtual form; to install it,
I recommend you to use the alcohol 120% or the Daemon.
Its graphical interface is amazing, because it is not only very
easy to use and install, but it also has multi languages and it
can be modified according to your own taste, it has an office
automation package and it also include the program called The
Glimp, which has a GNU license, and besides, it has the Open
Office, which has a text processor, a calculus page,
applications for vectorial drawing, data base and other
applications developed by Sun Microsystems. |

development, this software counts with a program called
audacity, which is a variant for the SoundForge, which is very
much alike the Windows Movie Maker and it counts with different
