Problems at work,
causes and effects :
Working is one of the most gratifying
experiences in the life of a human being.
However, many times, this practice is
shattered by a series of psychological,
emotional and physical problems, which, at
the same time, cause serious damages, such
as stress, among other diseases, harming the
workers development. |
|
|
Work problems appear in any work,
whether it is state owned or private and,
usually, the direct responsible are the
bosses, superiors or co workers, as well
as the offered work conditions.
any worker, despite his or her profession,
area, gender or professional capacity, is
affected by a series of factors in a
determined moment. This is why in the
following paragraphs we will try to describe
the most common problems, in order to be
able to know how to solve them.

There are some people who
belief that globalization only causes
problems among international or
transnational companies.
|
|
 |
However, it also affects
local or national companies, which suddenly
see them competing against foreigners
companies, harming the workers job. |
|
at this moment in time, it is
unavoidable for a chief to not demand his or
her employees to cut down costs, without
altering the products quality. This task if
very hard to fulfill, because cutting down
costs implies looking for new options that
require more work hours, meaning, making a
bigger effort to perceive the same salary.
This situation generates
dejection from the workers.
On the other hand, the constant growth of
the population makes the work demand to
increase. This makes it tougher to keep a
job and the existence of
good job
offers.

The conditions that an
enterprise or company imposes a worker must
be accepted, because behind each worker
there is a long line waiting for the work
position. It is even worse now, when the
world is going through an economic crisis
and people are struggling to survive. This
reality emotionally exhausts any worker,
because he or she does not have economic
stability.
Every worker must manage his or her time in
such way that not everything in his or her
life is dedicated to his or her job, but
also to personal business, because the lack
of time organization is another of the main
issues that appear in a workers life.
Updating you knowledge is fundamental for
any worker. If the worker is not constantly
qualifying him or herself, he or she will be
in disadvantage regarding other individuals
who graduate from diverse institutes and
universities each year. Every worker must be
prepared to respond efficiently before the
questions his or her boss might ask
regarding laboral subjects.
Low self esteem can be a frequent problem
in work centers. It is normal for a worker
to receive warnings from his or her boss.
However, to avoid self esteem issues, it
is best to talk with the boss and ask him or
her that, any time there is an inconvenient
with you development or there is some sort
of error, he or she can communicate it to
you personally and not before all your co
workers, so you are not bothered for it.
The work load, as well as the enormous
pressure from superiors to achieve goals in
a short period of time, generates anxiety
among workers, as well as laboral stress. To
counteract these problems and dispose the
accumulated adrenaline in the organism, it
is necessary for the worker to exercise and
go to relaxation therapies.
In many work centers it is very common to
hear about mobbing,
an emotional problem based in psychological
harassment performed by many bosses towards
their staff. This harassment consists in
constantly showing them how superior they
are, not caring how their employees work.
This psychological violence, which can also
be practiced by co workers, generates
stress.
In work, it is also common the presence of
problems that harm the physical health of
the workers, such as muscular pain. Many
workers suffer from back pain or lumbalgia
for been sit for many hours during the day
or for lifting weights that go beyond their
bodys resistance. also, sight problems
appear, for been working in front of a
computer for many hours. The carpal Tunnel
Syndrome, a very painful and incapacitating
illness, is another health problem provoked
by laboral causes.
The good news is that both, psychological
and physical issues can be solved. In order
to avoid or solve emotional problems, it is
necessary for the worker to talk with his or
her boss or co worker who is harassing or
intimidating you, and ask them to stop
acting that way because, otherwise, you will
be forced to take legal measures. Regarding
the physical problems, the solution must
come from the company, because they must
improve their laboral conditions and
environments. For example, offices must have
a pleasant environment; desks must have the
adequate size and height, etc. besides,
illumination and ventilation must be
favorable. The company must try to provide
the workers with screen protectors, so the
shine of the computers monitor does not
affect the workers sights; the keyboards
and chairs must be ergonomic. Taking into
consideration these factors will allows
reducing the negative effects that so deeply
affect the workers.
Keeping a job in these times is pretty
tough. This is why those who have a stable
job are considered as lucky people. However,
this good luck cannot be enjoyed when
interpersonal relations among workers, co
workers and superiors are not good and, on
the other hand, are unfavorable for the
workers physical and emotional health.
